Kirsten Johnston and team have launched a series of posters contributing to the fight against COVID-19 in China. Themed, ‘Stay Clean, Stay Strong,’ the four posters aim to help companies maintain good hygiene in and around the workplace. This comes ahead of many workers returning to their offices in China after a long period of home working due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Each poster touches on a different workplace theme:
01: “Make it a team effort! COVID-19 Stay Clean, Stay Strong” – encouraging everyone to take individual action to stop the spread of germs
02: “Get a handle on virus prevention. COVID-19 Stay Clean, Stay Strong” – reminds you to wash your hands after touching well-handled objects
03: “Take care of yourself so you may take care of others. COVID-19 Stay Clean, Stay Strong” – commands better habits of hygiene in shared workspaces
04: “Your hands are your first line of defence. COVID-19 Stay Clean, Stay Strong” – instructs the most effective way to prevent virus infection.
The design of the series pays homage to old Chinese public health posters from the 1950s. Each one is illustrated using soft colours and vertically typeset Chinese instructions. The messages echo the recommendations laid out by the government and WHO.
JWDK hopes that these posters will be a gentle (yet constant) reminder for employers and their staff of the methods and tools necessary to ensure a more hygienic working environment. Stay Clean, Stay Strong!
